Travel: Chatuchak Weekend Market, Bangkok

November 23, 2014

A visit to Bangkok is incomplete without a trip to the Chatuchak Weekend Market (at least that is what a friend who was hell bent on shopping told me 🙂 ).

We headed there in the morning – debating on whether to take a taxi or the MRT. In the end, as it was 9am – still early for any traffic buildup, we decided to take a taxi.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

The market is huge! Rows upon rows of shops selling everything from clothes, jewellery, food, antiques, art, plants and even pets! However, the market has been divided into sections so if you do know what you would like to buy – get a map and zoom in on those sections. Even if you are not intending to do some major shopping – take along some money – you never know what will tempt you – take it from someone who had no intention of shopping!

It got hotter and hotter as the morning wore on – do take the opportunity to hydrate and keep in the shade.
