I have managed to complete two recipes from Baking Chez Moi – yay! Unfortunately I seem to have dropped out completely from Baking with Julia but will try and get back into the groove with that at some point.
I made these crispy-topped brown sugar bars as a birthday present for a friend. Initially I was going to make the classic brownies from Baking from my Home to Yours but when I looked over this recipe, I thought it was simple enough to have a go at it… and it should (hopefully) turn out fine. Worst case scenario – the brownies can be whipped up in half an hour.
I followed the instructions to a ‘t’ and decided to go the uncaramelised route as it would keep better.
How did it taste? Great if you ask me and the other people who had a bite. The birthday girl also love it – yay!
