This recipe for classic brownies are my go to when it comes to baking up a quick batch. I have been using it for years and even though I stray occasionally, I do always return as they are my fail safe brownies which have got rave reviews. The consistency of these are slightly fudgy – not gooey or cakey, and the chocolate does shine through. I use the best chocolate that I have on hand and more often then not, I throw in the walnuts as I feel that it helps to cut through the super chocolatey flavour.
I baked this up last weekend as I had a pot luck which was held for my pottery class. I had to get there by 11am and these beauties were done in under an hour – quick and tasty. As I had baked 2 trays, the second went to some lucky friends who I was meeting in the evening for a movie.
